"The searches located the number of incidents recorded under the heading of road traffic accidents, which occurred on the A65 road in the area of Hellifield or Long Preston. The figures do not distinguish between injury and non injury road traffic accidents and do not include road traffic accidents on other named roads in the area of Hellifield or Long Preston."

Amalgamated Traffic Counts

Files Last Updated Sunday 30th October 2005

The following are the Amalgamated Traffic Count Charts which show the traffic rate in Vehicles per Hour for each day of the week.
These are compiled from the individual Traffic Counts, which in themselves only cover parts of a day.
When we have collected sufficient data these Amalgamated Traffic Charts will be representative of a Typical Day.
The gaps in the charts are when the Counter was not being operated.

Note: From the Public Inquiry on 21st Feb 2006.
The Highways Agency figures were now stated as 9,600/day for Gargrave and 11,600/day for Long Preston. The original figure of 9,300 was taken from a letter from the Highways Agency sent to objectors last year.
